Commissioning Furniture
Are you interested in having your own custom piece built? This is my process for what it looks like to make that dream a reality!
Once the design and price are settled and any revisions are made a 50% deposit will be secured to hold your place in the queue and purchase the necessary materials for your build to commence. Keep in mind that most pieces will take anywhere from two-six weeks to build depending on the complexity. Timelines will also be impacted depending on the current backlog of pieces in the queue. When it’s closing in on the time for your piece to begin I’ll reach out and make sure everything is still in order, then begin the build!
Build
The first step on the commissioning journey is to contact me to discuss all the details of your project and any budgetary/time related constraints you may have. After sorting out some of the introductory elements a design fee will be collected to begin the initial work on bringing your idea to life!
Design
Deliver
After the building of your furniture is completed the final 50% of payment will be collected and the delivery requirements will be finalized. Whenever possible I prefer to deliver custom furniture pieces in person. It’s always enjoyable to see the piece in its home. Depending on the distance there may be fee to cover traveling expenses. Keep in mind if there are a group of clients or multiple pieces in bound for the same general area the delivery fee may be reduced or eliminated entirely. If a personal delivery ins’t possible I’ll crate or blanket wrap the piece and find the best overall shipping method at the clients expense.
